Introduction:
The Scientific Bio-Minds is an academic private organization established in 2008. It is a federation of bioinformatics research and service groups from the major universities. It also works closely with industrial partners.
The Scientific Bio-Minds brings together bioinformatics skills and experience. It coordinates bioinformatics research and education throughout India and provides high quality bioinformatics services to the national and international research community.
OUR MISSION
The Institute has the following three main missions:
· Research
o Sustain and coordinate a high-quality research program in bioinformatics, in particular the development of new methods and algorithms for data collection, storage and analysis,
o Contribute to life science research projects in India and abroad in key fields such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, Bio-Software, systems biology drug designing, chemical formulation, drug toxicity identification etc...
· Services
o Provide databases and software tools to the national and international scientific community,
o Maintain core facilities, computing facilities and web servers to assist life scientists in their research work.
· Training
o Provide, in collaboration with academic partners, a curriculum of courses and seminars for the education and training of research scientists in the field of bioinformatics.

5. Biocomputing systems and parallel and grid computing - embedded systems for bioinformatics, parallel algorithms and architectures for sequence analysis, cluster computing, grid computing, high performance computational biology, in silico molecular models.
6. Systems biology - Genetics networks, gene regulation systems, biochemical networks, understanding structure of the systems, modeling dynamics of gene expression, protein synthesis, ion channels etc., theoretical modeling of interactions in population dynamics and physiology.
